• MORAVIA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

  
  

  Centrally located in the midst of the Finger Lakes, the Moravia Central School District is primarily rural with a strong agricultural base. The district is ideally located near the cities of Auburn, Cortland and Ithaca; Syracuse and Binghamton are a one hour drive. Each hosts a number of theaters, museums, and musical offerings. A variety of businesses within the school district boundaries offer employment opportunities in manufacturing, agriculture, transportation, and service-oriented industries.

  The community, through the Port Byron Central School, will provide opportunities in a stable and caring environment for students to become literate, life-long learners and pursuers of dreams. We will nurture self-worth and develop personal integrity and social responsibility in our students.

• SOUTHERN CAYUGA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

  
  

  The Southern Cayuga School District enjoys an ideal setting in the Finger Lakes region.聽 Stretching from Cayuga to Owasco Lakes, the district is located about 15 miles from Auburn, 25 miles from Ithaca, 40 miles from Syracuse and 60 miles from Rochester. The student population is currently about 825. Our community is made up of traditional agriculture and includes college staff working at Cornell University and Wells, Ithaca and Cayuga Community Colleges. Our strong agricultural heritage blends harmoniously with business professionals. Southern Cayuga and Wells College have a strong partnership that benefits learners of every age from both institutions.Our district has a separate elementary (K-4) building. Our Middle School (5-8) is housed in a separate wing within our high school. The district has its own Planetarium & Observatory with programming available for students and community members. The high school offers a full range of courses, including Advanced Placement, college course work and tech prep programs in agriculture, business, technology education and for career preparation. The district has made a thoughtful commitment to integrating instructional technology for students and staff. We are committed to the success of all students. We offer a wide range of courses in the area of fine arts and have well-established academic assistance programs that use achievement data to diagnose student needs and prescribe instruction using scientifically based research.

It is a school district that many take great pride in and justifiably so given its long tradition of academic excellence and outstanding student-centered programming. Hopefully, in navigating the site, you will attain a better understanding of why so many people hold the school district in the highest regard.It is the sincere hope of those vested in the development and maintenance of the website that your visit to the site allows you to access information, gain an insight into the district鈥檚 myriad of events, be updated on recent occurrences, and, as needed, make contact with those who diligently work for the betterment of our community鈥檚 centerpiece 鈥� the school district.As a former teacher at each level 鈥� elementary, middle, and high school 鈥� within the Weedsport Central School District, a principal of Weedsport Middle School and now the Superintendent of Schools, as well as a resident of the school district for over 15 years, I have spent a majority of my adult life as a member of the this school district and the community. Given that, I feel strongly that I can endorse, most assuredly, that the Weedsport community and the Weedsport Central School District are exceptional places to raise a family and educate children. In closing, I believe that this website will offer a measure of validation to my beliefs.
