  CVU provides its students with an extensive and comprehensive curriculum, offering a variety of programs and more than 150 courses. The school is committed to a philosophy of heterogeneous grouping, allowing students to choose an academic path best suited to their learning goals. There are no curricular tracks. The program elected by each student should reflect his/her individual interests, abilities, and needs. Students are encouraged to enroll in the most demanding program possible. This allows the choice of various paths, including college, job training, etc., after the successful completion of high school. School Counselors provide each student with assistance in self-understanding and in the selection of courses, both yearly and on a long-range basis. Students in the ninth grade are enrolled in a Core Program, earning a total of five credits, in English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Health/Physical Education. All tenth grade students are enrolled in English 10 and Making of the Modern World (Social Studies), and are expected to enroll in a program that includes courses earning a total of at least six credits. Students in grades eleven and twelve enroll in a minimum of courses totaling five credits. Within the CVU curriculum, students are offered the opportunity to travel and learn about other cultures. For example, Spanish and AP Biology students may travel to Costa Rica. Travel seminars have brought students to China, Italy, Dominican Republic, England, Ireland and Wales.

  The Charlotte Central School is a public Pre-K through 8th grade school, located in Charlotte, Vermont.   With almost 3,200 students, CCSU is one of the largest supervisory unions in Vermont. General functions of the supervisory union include: insulating schools from unnecessary bureaucracy, providing centralized administration and management services to member districts, and serving in supervising, coordinating, and consultative roles for, and on behalf of, member school districts. CCSU makes sure to always maintain a student-centered focus. Our Vision: Chittenden Central Supervisory Union, a student-centered learning community, will maximize available resources through unified, collaborative leadership to be consistently recognized as exemplary, as measured by continuous improvement in the areas of achievement, safe and respectful learning environments, and the promotion of equity for all.

  The Colchester School District provides public education to approximately 2,200 students. We accept tuition students from the Islands and other districts. At Colchester High School, students have the opportunity to participate in School Choice. Our Schools: Colchester High School (grades 9-12), Colchester Middle School (grades 6-8), Malletts Bay School (grades 3-5 and EEE), Porters Point School (grades K-2), Union Memorial School (grades K-2). The services at Essex Elementary also include after school YMCA programs. The second campus is on Founders Road. Founders Memorial School serves grades 3-5 and includes an after school YMCA program. Essex Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Essex Schools, offers afterschool programs for Essex Elementary and Founders Memorial School students as well. Essex Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 and provides many after school offerings in music, art, intramural and interscholastic sports. The District serves approximately 1,250 preschool through grade eight students. Parents, staff members, students and the entire community work together to provide quality programs and help every child become successful. The MISSION of the Essex Town School District is to provide quality education to all children to ensure their success in a rapidly changing world.

  We serve Kindergarten to Grade 4 students. Our school is multigraded with the following configurations: Kindergarten--single graded; Grades 1-2--three classrooms; Grades 3-4--three classrooms. Enrollment for 2012-2013 is 110 students. Investigations-II is the basis of our Mathematics curriculum. We use Responsive Classroom as our social curriculum. Spanish is taught to all Kindergarten-Grade 4 students. The Four Winds Environmental Science Program supplements and extends our curriculum. Weekly All School Meetings give students an opportunity to present their learning to an audience--and and opportunity for parents to see their school in action. The After School Enrichment Program provides opportunities for expert volunteers to become involved. Past offerings include: Bugs!, Yoga, Math Mysteries, Dance, Cooking Classes. A Partnership with the University of Vermont Asian Studies Outreach Program resulted in teachers from Inner Mongolia, China and Yunnan Province, China spending several months in our school and with our families in 2007 and 2010.
