  Blake Elementary School is located in the small ranching community of Woody, California, approximately 35 miles from Bakersfield. This historic school services Kindergarten through Eighth grade students, in which the students are instructed in a K-8 grade, self-contained, one room schoolhouse. The school currently serves 10 students, 3 girls and 7 boys. The Blake School District is one of the smallest school districts in the state of California.

  North Kern Vocational Training Center (NKVTC) has been providing Career Technical Education (CTE) to students for over 30 years. NKVTC was formed after the Regional Occupational Center or Kern was disbanded, leaving an need for CTE training in Northern Kern County.

  The NKVTC is a Regional Occupational Center formed by the Delano Joint Union High School District, McFarland Unified School District and Wasco Union High School District. The NKVTC is a Joint Power Agreement School District and is governed by a Board of Directors that establishes policies, adopts a budget, employs staff and provides vocational training programs for high school students and adults.
