  MISSION STATEMENT: All students in the District are important and deserve the best possible education. We believe our purpose is to teach the essential academic skills and provide the experiences our students need in order to develop the ability to think logically and independently and to communicate effectively. Therefore, our students are thoughtfully assigned to classes in order to maximize their active and successful interaction with the appropriate learning task and at the appropriate level of difficulty. Student progress is systematically monitored and learning activities adjusted to meet the instructional needs of the learner. We believe the atmosphere for learning should be pleasant and conducive to our students who are cultivating useful work habits and developing essential skills. • NEW DEAL ISD

  
  

  New Deal is located six miles north of Lubbock. Our school district includes the city of New Deal and the adjoining rural area that totals 119 square miles. Our district serves approximately 700 students and provides a balanced and challenging curriculum, building the foundation for productive lives. Students of the New Deal Independent School District excel in academic competition, with the majority of our graduating seniors planning to continue their education. Our campuses are recognized by the state for academic excellence. Extracurricular activities are an important part of a well-rounded education. New Deal is proud to have a history of extracurricular excellence that includes All-State performances in band, leadership accomplishments in career and technology programs, numerous state playoff appearances in both team and individual sports, and numerous UIL literary accomplishments, including a District Championship in UIL Science. The New Deal ISD is a Class 1A school district. Our faculty and staff are committed to the success of our students, offering each a quality education and at the same time, setting examples worthy of being followed by your student. Our Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) results are typically above the state average, with our district receiving several Gold Performance Awards from the Texas Education Agency. Overall, our scores have been exceptional compared to the rest of the state of Texas, which has become a tradition for our schools. We are committed to educational excellence and opportunity for all students, as we recognize and celebrate each individual's strengths and successes.

• REG 17 EDUCATION SERVICE CENTER

  
  

  Region 17 Education Service Center is one of twenty regional service organizations that were created by actions of the Texas Legislature and the Texas State Board of Education in 1967. The centers are non-regulatory and each provides an array of services to support school administration and instruction. District participation in services is voluntary. The Education Service Center, Region 17's purpose is to serve school districts as defined in three directives: To facilitate increasing student performance; To enable school districts to operate more efficiently and economically; To implement state education initiatives. Mission: We are passionately committed to developing and nurturing healthy, thriving learning communities across Region 17 by guiding and supporting schools in their quest for excellence.

• RISE ACADEMY

  
  

  Rise Academy is an independent public charter school located in northeast Lubbock, TX where commitment to learning and academic performance is the top priority. There is no cost to attend Rise Academy. We are a tuition-free charter school offering grades pre-k 鈥� 8th grade. Rise Academy was founded in 1999 to provide low-income, underserved children with a better prospect in life through superior education. In May 2008 Rise Academy had its first small graduating class. Nearly 80% of these graduates are now enrolled in local high school magnet programs pursuing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. We have great expectations for Rise students, both current students and our graduates!
