• DUANESBURG CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

  
  

  The district features two school buildings鈥攁n elementary school serving grades K-5 and a middle/high school building housing students in grades 6-12. Students are served by a dynamic staff of teachers, non-instructional support personnel and an administrative team working with progressive goals.The staff consists of 75 teachers, 78 non-instructional personnel, a high school principal, middle school principal, elementary school principal, a psychologist, Committee on Special Education chairperson, two guidance counselors, a social worker, and a part-time student assistance counselor and school resource officer.Mission Statement: To be a socially responsible school community where learning and the pursuit of excellence are valued.

• ROTTERDAM-MOHONASEN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

  
  

  The Mohonasen Central School District draws most of its students from the town of Rotterdam 鈥� however, students also come from the towns of Colonie and Guilderland. Mohonasen is a Suburban Council school district that serves about 3,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. We have two elementary schools: Bradt Primary School, which serves students in grades K-2, and Pinewood Intermediate School, which serves students in grades 3-5. Draper Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 and Mohonasen High School serves students in grades 9-12. Mohonasen鈥檚 students consistently achieve high marks on state exams, and our schools are among the top-performing schools in the region. Our instructional staff consists of roughly 250 professionals, who are supported by six academic administrators and eight principals and assistant principals. Our students are also actively involved in many music and theater performance groups, including the Mohon Masque Theatre Group, which has a reputation for outstanding performances and plays to packed houses year after year. Additionally, roughly 40 percent of all students are involved in at least one interscholastic sport. The district鈥檚 attendance rate averages 96 percent a year. All district activities, programs, and goals are funded by an annual budget of roughly $43 million.

  The Schenectady City School District is an urban school system serving nearly 10,000 students in grades Pre-K through twelve.聽The district includes more than 900 teachers in two early childhood education centers, 11 elementary schools, two K-8 magnet schools, two middle schools, a success academy for middle school students, one high school, a career and leadership academy and an adult education center. Schenectady schools offer incredible, rich diversity. Schenectady is comprised of a population of students who speak more than 27 different languages. Our schools are filled with culture & a richness that comes from working side by side with students of different backgrounds.   Scotia-Glenville schools stress a solid, traditional education that emphasizes reading, writing and mathematics while nurturing creative thought, critical thinking and expression through art, music, technology, and physical education. The district also offers excellent second language, business education, home economics, industrial arts, vocational and special education programs. Students are able to reach beyond the school walls through Distance Learning, just one example of Scotia-Glenville's commitment to technology.Scotia-Glenville caters to students of all learning abilities. Strong programs are offered for the gifted and talented child as well as the academically-needy student.The award-winning educational program is complemented by opportunities for Scotia-Glenville students to participate in a multitude of extracurricular and athletic activities.
