LARAMIE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #1

Laramie County School District 1 is the largest school district in the State of Wyoming with 34 schools serving 13,000 students. NATRONA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #1

We are Natrona County's only public school district, serving the education needs about 11,500 students in preschool through 12th grade in the city of Casper, as well as the surrounding towns of Alcova, Bar Nunn, Edgerton, Evansville, Mills, Midwest, and Powder River. We have been blessed by the state of Wyoming's commitment to education, which is supported by its allocation of nearly $1.5 billion to K-12 education. Our state helps fund tutors, instructional facilitators, summer school, and extended day programs for our students, and it provides a unique capital construction program that allows all districts in Wyoming to maintain excellent facilities for learning and teaching. In NCSD, we are committed to providing optimum learning opportunities for every child. We are an open enrollment district, meaning that parents can choose from any of our 34 schools for their children, regardless of where in the county they reside. We believe that families know their children best, and we know that no single learning environment will meet the needs of every child. We offer a wide variety of programs for our students. In elementary school, that means different teaching styles, activities, and academic programs. In middle and high school, students may find one-to-one computing, college-prep and college-credit courses, and career and technical education, as well as a wide range of sports and cocurricular activities. We also have a number of alternative programs to support students who have struggled in a traditional environment or who want to re-enter the educational system after dropping out.

Park County School District #1 encompasses a geographical area of slightly over 1,400 square miles and includes the communities of Powell, Clark, Garland and Ralston. Carbon County School District No. 2 was created in 1972 through the consolidation of school districts in the eastern half of Carbon County, Wyoming. The District encompasses 4,000 square miles in southeastern Wyoming with the eastern border less than 100 miles from Cheyenne and the southern border beginning at the Colorado / Wyoming state line. Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific railroad bisects the District. Schools are located in the communities of Elk Mountain, Encampment, Hanna, Saratoga and Medicine Bow. The District Administration Central Office is located in Saratoga, which is the largest of the five communities. In the Thermopolis Schools, Hot Springs County School District No. 1, you'll find a comprehensive educational program for grades kindergarten through 12. Excellent staff, small class sizes, a comprehensive curriculum, state-of-the-art technology, first-class school facilities, and a supportive community are highlights of our district. The schools are the center of much of what happens in our community, and we are fortunate to partner in an outstanding municipal recreation program. As a district, and as a community, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of all of our 635 students. There are three schools in our district, Ralph Witters Elementary (grades K-4), Thermopolis Middle School (grades 5-8) and Thermopolis High School (grades 9-12). All of our schools are fully accredited by the Wyoming State Board of Education and the North Central Association. More than 100 professionals in our district work to make education a positive experience for our students. There are 67 certified staff members and 62 classified staff. A seven-member board establishes policy for the district. Members are elected at large from the county electorate. The financial condition of the district is strong, allowing us to provide outstanding programs and opportunities for our young people. As a result, students in our district score well above national grade levels on achievement. The district has been involved in a building program and opened a new high school building the fall of 2006. Ralph Witters Elementary underwent renovations that were completed in 2007. The 800-seat auditorium is one of the finest in the Rocky Mountain region.

Fremont County School District 21 serves approximately 526 students (PK - 12) and their families and is located on the Wind River Indian Reservation at the base of the Wind River Mountains in West Central Wyoming. The district includes Fort Washakie Elementary School (PK - 6), Fort Washakie Middle School (7 & 8), and the Fort Washakie Virtual High School (9 - 12) and employs 120 full or part time staff members. All district facilities are located on a single campus, which provides ease of availability of the full range of district programs and services to all students. Our board and staff work cooperatively to lead, empower, and promote a successful learning environment so that our students can compete in society. DISTRICT DIRECTION (VISION): Our direction is to provide rigorous and relevant instruction to educate our students to excel and succeed in any environment while sustaining the knowledge, value, and history of our culture. Our teachers are all certified and highly qualified in the areas they teach and strive to provide a personal, positive education for all students. Each school is NCA accredited and decisions relating to academics are based on data. The curriculum is rigorous and meets the requirements of the Hathaway Success Curriculum.
