• ELK LAKE SD

  
  

  The Elk Lake School District and the Susquehanna County Career & Technology Center facility is unique because the school structure is a single centralized semi-two story facility all on one compound, totaling 285,384 square feet which equals 6.55 acres. Included is: kindergarten through 12th grade, and the Career & Technology Center which consists of seven diverse vocational training shops and accommodates students from neighboring school districts. We also host a Luzerne County Community College Satellite Program. In addition, we have a community park, pavilion and swimming pool, which are all available for use by the public. It is accurate to state that a student can attend kindergarten through 2 years of vocational training/college all under one roof at Elk Lake School District.

  The Forest City Regional School District is a public school district located in the northeastern corner of Pennsylvania. It spans portions of Susquehanna, Lackawanna, and Wayne counties, including the boroughs of Forest City, Vandling, and Union Dale, and the townships of Mount Pleasant, Clinton II, and Herrick. The district covers an area of 87.82 square miles. District Mission Statement: The Forest City Regional School District will prepare students to be lifelong learners, critical problem-solvers, and responsible, productive citizens.

  The mission of the Susquehanna Community School District is to nurture an educational environment that will develop life-long learners who will be successful participants in an ever changing world. The vision of the Susquehanna Community School District is to educate every child in a safe school environment where effective teaching practices, fiscally responsible and educationally sound resource allocation strategies, and involved parents combine to produce unparalleled results. The teachers of the district will be role models respected by students, parents, faculty and staff. They will instruct and engage their students through the implementation of innovative technological resources and high-quality instructional strategies, such as critical thinking, conceptual understanding and problem-solving. Students will achieve mastery of all Pennsylvania academic standards and will be prepared for the rigors of life after high school. Students will learn in a safe, comfortable environment under the direction and facilitation of trusting professionals. The learning process for students will be an interactive, enjoyable, collaborative and satisfying experience where all students are given opportunities to demonstrate and apply the concepts, ideas and skills they have learned.   The mission of the Susquehanna County Career and Technology Center (SCCTC), in cooperation with parents, families, local agencies and community members is to provide educational opportunities for all students to reach their full potential by striving towards excellence through academic knowledge, basic skills, and technology taught by a competent and committed staff within a safe environment. These opportunities will enable students to become life long learners, productive citizens, and responsible members of society.
