Caledonia Area Public School has an enrollment of approximately 740 students. Caledonia Area School District is located in the beautiful Houston county of Southeast Minnesota. The district boundaries include the Mississippi River on the east and the Iowa border on the south. The communities of Brownsville, Eitzen, and Freeburg are also located in the district. Caledonia is located twenty-two miles from La Crosse, Wisconsin. All businesses, cultural and medical facilities of a major metropolitan area can be found here. The City of Caledonia is the county seat of Houston County. It has a population of 3,000 people. The mission of Independent School District #299 is to plan and provide the best quality education to all learners in an environment, which is conducive to learning. It is also our purpose to encourage cooperation among home, school, and community in order to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes for citizenship in our changing world.
