About Sterling Regional School District

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

All students at Sterling High School will learn and achieve a high level of academic achievement exceeding the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards at all grade levels and national standards. We commit to a comprehensive system of support to assure this outcome.Learning is the primary purpose of Sterling High School. Attention will be given to the following questions: What do we expect students to learn? How will we know that students have learned? How will we, individually and as a school, respond to students who are not learning? What do we do when the students learn? Our mission statement shown previously reminds us of why we exist. The vision statement paints a picture of what we can be and what we have become. Many of us have a personal vision in our personal lives. We strive toward a better version of ourselves that may be wealthier, smarter, better organized, healthier, and so on. We use that vision to guide our behaviors on both a long and short term basis. The school's vision serves the same purpose - that is, it offers a realistic alternative for a better future. It simply states, "This is what we want to be."
