About Constellation Schools: Westpark Community Elementary

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

Constellation Schools Westpark Community Elementary utilizes the Ohio Academic Content Standards as the basis for its curriculum. This program includes language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, citizenship, art, music and physical education. In addition, students at all grade levels study Spanish and technology. All of our teachers have State certified licenses or certificates and have met the Highly Qualified mandates of No Child Left Behind. Teachers and administrators are actively recruited to ensure that we employ the highest quality of teachers. For Constellation Schools, classes are typically no more than 20 students to ensure that every student receives individualized attention. Currently, our enrollment is 290 students with three classes of each grade K-4. There are high expectations for every student and parents are encouraged to take an active role in the education of their children. Character Education is a vital component of our educational plan. Our public charter schools eliminate the administrative bureaucracy so often found in public education and focus on a back-to-basics education that emphasizes character development and citizenship. Students are given a caring, safe, nurturing educational environment. In return, Westpark Community Elementary demands academic excellence, respectful behavior, good attendance and involved parents. Westpark Community Elementary is rated “Effective” by the Ohio Department of Education.
