About OKEMAH

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

The Okemah Schools in cooperation with parents, students and the community will develop students to their fullest potential so they may become responsible, productive citizens in a rapidly changing multicultural society. The Okemah Schools and parents have the responsibility to assist each student to develop intellectual, physical, and moral potential as fully as possible in order to become a productive member of society. Because education is a continuing process, the school program should reflect the changing needs of the students and community. Inherent within this philosophy is the belief that all students can and will learn. All students, regardless of ability, should receive personal satisfaction and fulfillment in some educational endeavor and should share, with the school and home, the responsibility of this achievement. An understanding of the democratic process is essential and this process is developed through both study and practice. This practice should include pride in our heritage and an appreciation for individual and national freedoms. The schools have an obligation toward helping create individual respect and respect for every human being. Reinforcement of personal integrity, social maturity, emotional stability and insight is a responsibility of our school and community.
