Maryetta School is located near the end of the "Trail of Tears" in Adair County's "Green Country," a very rural, economically depressed area of Northeastern Oklahoma. The 700+ three-year old preschool thru 8th grade student population is composed of 83% Native American enrollment. Maryetta School is the center of this rural community. OUR PHILOSOPHY: We believe in a flexible program based upon the best techniques from old and new philosophies of education, individualized and enriched by the initiative and ability of the teacher. We believe in providing personal facilities and supplies to assure total group development and adequate individual achievement to the highest potential. We believe in continuing professional growth. We believe in cooperation with parents through active community relationships and parent-teacher conferences. AS THE TEACHER IS, SO THE SCHOOL WILL BE!
