The Bucks County Schools Intermediate Unit is a regional educational service agency, one of twenty-nine in Pennsylvania established in 1970. Working with the State Department of Education and the local school districts, the Intermediate Unit provides programs and services to Bucks County Schools in a highly cost-effective manner. Since IU’s do not have taxing power, local school district contributions support the majority of the programs offered by IU’s.
