Smithfield School District provides an excellent educational experience for all students thanks to the efforts of our talented, dedicated, and caring staff and our supportive parent community. We take great pride in knowing that every school in the district is high performing and has achieved Annual Yearly Progress with two of our schools regents commended. We have a commitment to hiring highly qualified and credentialed teachers and to providing support and professional development in order to assure top notch student performance results. Our positive partnership with parents, businesses and the community enhances our instructional program and provides an enriched learning environment in which student thrive. A partnership with Dr. Robert Ballard (explorer who discovered the Titanic) and the school of oceanography at the University of Rhode Island has allowed our students to be the first in the world to interact with research scientists all over the world. Through a partnership with Bryant University we were the first district in the United States to establishK-12 afterschool Confucius Classrooms to teach Chinese culture and language.
