Blanco ISD is committed to educational excellence. The students of Blanco ISD are its most valuable resource. Instruction is geared toward meeting the individual needs of each student. At Blanco ISD, we believe all students are valued, and that all students can learn. Blanco has a strong academic and extracurricular program. Our middle school campus is rated “Recognized.” We are a member of UIL Districts 8-AA and 13-AA and have active and competitive programs in athletics, band, FFA, UIL academics, and One Act Play, among others. The accomplishments of our students are recognized at the district, regional, and state levels. The Blanco Independent School District encompasses 378 square miles of beautiful Texas Hill Country located primarily in Blanco, although touching or including sections of Hays, Comal, Kendall and Gillespie counties. Blanco is 45 miles north of San Antonio via Hwy. 281 and 50 miles southwest of Austin via Hwy. U.S. 281 and 290 West. The city of Blanco’s population is approximately 1,500.
