The Spring Independent School District serves over 36,500 pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade students in a diverse and growing district located 20 miles north of downtown Houston in an urban area of Harris County that spans 57 square miles. Spring ISD Vision Statement: "By 2015, Spring Independent School District will be recognized nationally as a leader among learning organizations known for exemplary student achievement." The Spring ISD instructional approach allows for students to excel academically, socially and in extracurricular activities. Curricula used districtwide reflects the district’s belief in a strong academic foundation in the core subject areas of math, science, language arts and social studies. Instructional services are provided for identified students with various needs. Academic acceleration and enrichment are available for the gifted and talented. Special education services are provided for students with disabilities. Bilingual instruction and English as a Second Language education are available for students who require assistance while learning the English language. In addition, Spring ISD offers fine arts programs that are designed to enrich the lives of students through art, dance, music, theater and speech. The district has enjoyed a long history of success in the fine arts with groups and individuals being recognized for regional, state and national honors.
