About Lincoln Academy

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

Lincoln Academy is a Charter school, which is a free, public school overseen by the Utah State Office of Education. It opened the fall of 2005 and closely aligns its Calendar with the Alpine School District. There is an eight-member Board of Trustees who founded the school and continue to hold the school in trust. The school director oversees the daily operations of the school and assists in fulfilling the mission of Lincoln Academy. Lincoln Academy serves students in kindergarten through 9th grade. Small class sizes are a high priority at Lincoln Academy. Our adult to student ratio is kept around 15 students to every adult, which includes the teacher and teaching assistant. Our ideal target for class size is between 25 and 30 students per class. Students, parents, teachers, and administrators at Lincoln Academy work together to create an atmosphere where every student has the opportunity to learn from the Curriculum, excel in his or her academic achievements and develop life-long skills. Parental involvement is essential to the core foundation of Lincoln Academy. Parents have the opportunity to participate in many aspects of their children?s education through the Parent Council (PC), which provides critical support for teachers and is responsible for many programs outside of the classroom. School facilities include a gym (which also serves as a lunchroom area or a performance stage), a multi-purpose room, a playground, a computer lab, and a library, as well as pull-out rooms available to most classrooms. Mission Statement: "To inspire children to love learning and to empower them to explore and achieve their individual potential."
