About HYDE PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT

Description provided by the district or community — not part of the NCES dataset.

Hyde Park Elementary School, in the Village and Town of Hyde Park, VT, is a school of 250 Pre-K through 6th grade students. There are currently two classes for each grade with the exception of Kindergarten, where rising enrollments have required a third classrooms. As a Vermont elementary school, we adhere to the Vermont Framework of Standards and Grade Level Expectations in terms of the curriculum that is taught. In addition to our general education curriculum, we offer art, music, physical education, guidance, health, library and technology. We make every attempt to integrate these fields into the general curriculum in order to encourage the transfer of knowledge from one field to another. We also offer an after school program throughout the school year, with activities intended to meet student interests and an hour for homework for those students staying until 5 pm. HPES is a Positive Behavior Supports school in which behavioral expectations are taught to students. HPES is part of the Lamoille North Supervisory Union.
