The School District of Wabeno Area recognizes the district's youth as its greatest asset and considers the education of the youth to be its greatest single responsibility. It is the aim of the school district to provide a diversified educational program which will promote the development of each individual student to his/her fullest potential. The district will work with the parent(s)/guardian and community in an ongoing effort to further educational objectives. The educational focus of the School District of Wabeno Area will be the learning and mastering of the fundamental skills of reading, speaking, writing, listening and computation. In addition, emphasis will be placed on acquiring knowledge in areas such as Social Studies, Science, Vocational Education, Art, Music, Physical Education and Health in an effort to foster and effectuate a well rounded educational program for each individual student. The Board shall approve the curriculum and instructional standards for the district. Within the curricular and extra curricular areas, on going effort will be made to stimulate student creativity, independence and achievement; develop within the student problem solving techniques and the ability to adapt to an ever changing society; develop within the student an appreciation of individual worth and respect for oneself and others; and instill in the student an appreciation of our culture, our historical heritage and an understanding of our civil responsibility in a democratic society.
