  The East Allen County Schools Corporation provides student services that impact positively on the educational, physical, and social development of its students. These services, pre-school through high school graduation, meet individual as well as group needs. All are encouraged to take advantage of services provided by our counselors, nurses, behavior specialists, and psychologists. Alternative placements, at-risk programs and programs provided with the collaborative efforts of social agencies and the courts are available to students. Student services personnel prefer to act proactively. Internal and external expertise provides an array of resources to address the concerns and needs of students, parents, and staff.   FWCS has produced improved academic results as we have seen an increase in students who do not speak English and an increase in students coming from low-income families. FWCS is dedicated to improving academic achievement for聽allstudents and has many programs in place to meet their varying needs.

The Shared Value of Fun at Imagine Schools 鈥� decentralized leadership, freedom with responsibility, utilizing each person鈥檚 gifts to their maximum, and giving decision-making power to people closest to the action 鈥� is a new concept in the world of public education. This approach empowers teachers and staff聽and gives them the freedom and flexibility to apply the best learning models to meet each student鈥檚 unique needs.

• NORTHWEST ALLEN COUNTY SCHOOLS

  
  

  The Northwest Allen County School Corporation was formed in 1965 by virtue of the consolidation of Eel River-Perry Consolidated School and Lake Township School. The school corporation is comprised of three townships of Allen County: Eel River, Perry, and Lake. Eight schools now serve the school corporation. These schools and the year of construction are as follows:聽Carroll High School, 1967;聽Carroll Middle School, 1987;聽Arcola School, 1921;Huntertown School, 1922;聽Perry Hill School, 1972;聽Oak View School, 1992;聽Hickory Center School, 1998;聽Maple Creek Middle School, 2000;聽Cedar Canyon Elementary, 2005.聽 Eel River Elementary wil open in Fall, 2009. The schools are governed by a five-member non-partisan聽school board. Since the 1965 official organization of the district, there have only been a total of 27 board members serve a position. Members are elected at the time of the May primary in alternate years with one representative from each of the townships and two at-large representatives. The Board employs a superintendent of schools as its chief executive officer to administer its operational policies.

  The mission of the Timothy L. Johnson Academy is to provide opportunities for basic educational equity for students in East Allen County and Indiana. The academy will offer interaction between students, their parents and the community within the education system to provide an environment where learning and the arts are the centerpieces of the students鈥� lives.
