The Newark City Schools serves approximately 6,200 students in 11 buildings - seven elementary schools (Grades K-5), three middle schools (Grades 6-8) and one high school (Grades 9-12). Newark City Schools staff takes strides to help every student who walks through our doors – whether they’re here for a month, come in and out multiple times in a year or attend the district from K-12. If you look at our students’ achievement, it’s easy to see the results of the hard work: Our district achieved 23 of 26 indicators on last year’s report card – our highest total ever – and we were rated Effective, based on Ohio Department of Education data released just last week.
