The Mission of the Somerset Independent School District is to ensure that each and every student has access to quality education that challenges them to achieve their fullest potential with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in a global economy and exercise the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. Achievement of this Mission will be accomplished in an optimum learning environment where all stakeholders assume responsibility for learning as a lifelong process. At the Somerset Independent School District, we believe that by providing an environment conducive for learning with appropriate technology, and staff development support the learning potential for the children can be maximized. The welfare, education and safety of all students are of utmost importance. The issue of over crowding at all levels must be addressed. Education must be valued highly by all stakeholders; there must be mutual respect between and among students and staff. Communication between community, administration, and the board must always exist.
